A couple of weeks ago, I accompanied my friend Nancy to a VIP Tour, Welcome to ADAC soiree. And *soiree* is really the only word that seems to fit.
Kerry Howard of KMH Interiors invited clients and their guests to tour some of his favorite showrooms at the place in Atlanta... ADAC... the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center... more here. Selling "to the trade" ADAC has been the most exclusive private club in town since it's inception, finally opening their doors to the public in October of 2012.
For me it's hedonistic sensory overload... and I mean that in the BEST way. It's fabulous. Seriously. Showroom after showroom after showroom in all their glory.
Best of the best, etcetera... you get the idea.
Kerry is truly a delightful host and chose five showrooms for his clients to visit.
We began with Schumacher in their amazing space that was absolutely HUGE, full of every item they sell.

And they served breakfast...

Next was R HUGHES, where Kerry told us we'd see *his* chandelier...
or, at least, it would be his one day.
And they served a light brunch...
By now, most of you know I'm addicted to *gold*... not because it's gold, per se, but because it's one of those warm colors that I crave...
And I also crave "shiny." My, oh my, I do love a little bling...
And anything uber-feminine, such as these luscious tapes.
Can't you just see using these with a solid fabric? Especially for budget-conscious people like me? Talk about taking drapes or pillow coverings to a whole new level!
Then on to Moattar, Ltd., for a mindboggling display and priceless information on rugs and carpets of all types, fibers, weaving processes, dyeing... I love antique rugs and am fortunate to have
a couple... but I had no idea there are so many types available.

And they served snacks...
I adore this sweet little dog at Moattar. We caught him enjoying his treats...
And these photos demonstrate a little of what I learned.
Every carpet has a "dark" side and a "light" side, depending on the way the fibers are woven.
This picture shows the dark side...
Walking around the carpet, taking this picture from the opposite direction,
shows the light side.
shows the light side.
How you want the colors displayed in a room determines which way you turn the carpet.
I *did* that with my carpets but didn't *know* that's what I was doing at the time.

I couldn't resist one more of him searching for his treat that got covered up...
Next up was Duralee... another HUGE showroom with the most incredible fabrics, furniture, and trims...
And they served lunch...
That was to die for!
Even their powder room was over-the-top with their wallpaper, upholstery, and this incredible abalone trimmed mirror that I absolutely love.
Last, but by no means least, was Ann Sacks where I was captivated by the tiles, fixtures, mirrors, and displays... how did Kerry know I still have my master bath to remodel?
And...
they served melt-in-your-mouth desserts and Sangria...
a perfect end to an incredible day.
But no story of this fabulous tour would be complete without acknowledging the purveyor of all the delicious food we were served.
And they even gave us *warm* cookies to go...
The Hungry Peach is the resident cafe at ADAC and they cater...
brilliantly!
Have you ever found yourself in a setting that takes your breath away?
Where every place you look is more fabulous than the last?
That when you leave you're bursting with excitement and inspiration?
I'd love to hear your story...
In the meantime, thanks for stopping by...
